The Role

You will provide specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment and clinical care within a state forensic mental health service.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health care for patients with complex clinical needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment and clinical management
• Developing and reviewing comprehensive treatment and management plans
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Supporting clinical decision-making and risk management
• Contributing to multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical governance
• Providing supervision, education and support to junior medical staff where appropriate
• Participating in service improvement, teaching and professional development activities

What We’re Looking For

• Specialist registration with AHPRA or eligibility for specialist registration
• Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification
• Demonstrated experience in psychiatry, ideally within complex or forensic mental health settings
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and professional standards
